BYM Concert and Champagne Reception This Weekend

March 2013 - by Victoria Kickham

The annual Boston Youth Moves Dance Company concert is just days away, so be sure to reserve your tickets if you haven’t already. This year’s event is extra special, as the BYM Board of Directors is hosting a Champagne Reception following Saturday night’s performance. The reception will top off an evening of great dance and provide an opportunity to meet and greet the people who make BYM happen—faculty, staff, dancers, volunteers, sponsors and studio regulars like you, whose support is invaluable to the Jeannette Neill Dance Studio and its mission to preserve and promote the art of dance.

BYM’s annual company concert is held each March at Boston University’s Dance Theater and features the Boston Youth Moves Dance Company (Level 4 dancers) and the Boston Youth Moves Level 3 Intensive dancers performing a mix of new and previously performed works by BYM faculty and guest artists. Show planners round out the evening with faculty and guest performers as well, and this year BYM faculty member Nikki Sell will perform an old favorite, The Promise. Nikki choreographed the piece a few years ago and has presented it at both the BYM show and the JNDS Repertory Concert.

This weekend’s performances also include works by BYM directors Jim Viera and Jeannette Neill, faculty members Susie Michaud and Devon Fitchett, and guest artists/BYM alumni Matt Anctil and Stephanie Hilton.

Tickets for the Boston Youth Moves company concert are $25 regular admission, $20 seniors and children under 12. You can reserve performance-only tickets by calling 617-358-2500. Tickets for Saturday night’s show and reception are $50 and must be reserved by contacting Jeannette Neill at jneill@bostonyouthmoves.org. Reception-only tickets are $35, also available by emailing Jeannette.
